Supporting all children and young people in Sandwell.
As Family Hubs, we make a commitment to support all children and young people in Sandwell. There are many ways that we can support you, from signposting to agencies where there is a diagnosis in place and you are in need of further specialist support, or directly working with you and your child(ren) to help identify if further support maybe needed to help your child(ren) reach their full potential.
There does not need to be a diagnosis in place for us to be able to support you, your child or young person.
We are looking at developing our offer alongside partners and would be keen to hear from you if you have a child with SEND and would benefit from a support group, a network of friends and/or direct support. We can support in setting up dedicated services to ensure you and your child feel included in our centres and have an offer that meets your needs.
Our offer
Support for children with SEND runs throughout all of our services in Sandwell Family Hubs, and we link in with support organisations across the borough including SPDC (Sandwell Parents for Disabled Children), AWM (Autism West Midlands) and SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service).
This support could be a simple as accessing a WELLCOMM screening appointment if you have concerns around your child's speech and language development at a young age, to a team member coming into your home weekly to support with strategies, routines, sensory resources, different play ideas to help or different communication methods.
We also have courses that you may find helpful where understanding, strategies and techniques can be explored and give you the opportunity to meet other parents and carers (please see our Supporting Parents page).
To enquire around how we can support you and your family/child in Sandwell, please use the contact button.
We have also included some useful resources and information that you can access in your own time and way.
